SVMCMS - Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship

Government of West Bengal

The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is a state government scheme designed to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections. This scholarship covers tuition fees and provides maintenance allowance to help students complete their nursing education.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Must be a resident of West Bengal
  • Family income below ₹2.5 lakhs per annum
  • Minimum 75% marks in qualifying examination
  • Age limit: Below 30 years
  • Must have secured admission in recognized institution

OASIS - Online Application for Scholarship in Studies

Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal

OASIS is a comprehensive scholarship portal for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Minority communities. The scholarship aims to promote higher education among students from disadvantaged sections of society.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Permanent resident of West Bengal
  • Belong to SC/ST/OBC/Minority community
  • Family income below ₹2.5 lakhs per annum
  • Must have passed previous examination
  • Regular student in recognized institution

SCC - Student Credit Card Scheme

Government of West Bengal

The West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme provides easy access to education loans for students pursuing higher education. This interest-free loan helps students from economically weaker sections to pursue professional courses like nursing without financial burden.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Age between 18-40 years
  • Resident of West Bengal for minimum 5 years
  • Admitted to recognized institution
  • Family income below ₹4.5 lakhs per annum
  • No other major loan in family name
Loan Benefits:
  • Up to ₹10 lakhs loan amount
  • Interest-free during study period
  • Simple repayment after course completion
  • 4% interest rate for women
  • No collateral required up to ₹4 lakhs

Kanyashree Prakalpa

Government of West Bengal - For Girl Students

Kanyashree Prakalpa is a conditional cash transfer scheme for improving the status and wellbeing of girls, specifically those from socio-economically disadvantaged families. The scheme aims to encourage girls to continue their education and delay marriage.

K1 Scheme (Annual Scholarship):
  • For girls studying in Class 8-12
  • Age: 13-18 years
  • Must be unmarried
  • Annual grant of ₹1,000
K2 Scheme (One-time Grant):
  • For girls aged 18-19 years
  • Pursuing higher education
  • Must be unmarried
  • One-time grant of ₹25,000
